Legendary screen actor Harvey Keitel is set to command the screen once again, starring as a celebrated and demanding acting teacher in The Method. The upcoming feature film marks the directorial debut of Gaurav Bhardwaj, who also co-wrote the screenplay. Backed by an international coalition of production houses, the project brings together a culturally diverse cast and creative team to explore the intense, often agonizing intersection of artistic ambition, personal relationships, and individual identity within the high-stakes world of New York City’s performing arts scene.

Production on The Method has officially wrapped following a rigorous shoot across the New York and New Jersey metropolitan areas. With post-production now underway, the film is anticipated to make its way to audiences with a projected release in 2027.

Alongside Academy Award-nominee Keitel, the film features a dynamic ensemble cast. Mina Sundwall, widely recognized for her standout roles in Murdaugh: Death in the Family and the sci-fi series Lost in Space, takes on a prominent role in the narrative. They are joined by actors Rakshit Bhuchar and Rohan Maletira. Notably, The Method marks the feature film debut for both Bhuchar and Maletira, who step onto the international cinematic stage alongside industry veterans.

Exploring the Cutthroat World of New York Acting

Set against the backdrop of New York’s famously cutthroat acting scene, the narrative of The Method follows a talented Indian actor who travels abroad in pursuit of his craft. Once immersed in the competitive environment, he falls under the intense and transformative sway of Keitel’s revered acting teacher.

As the story unfolds, the delicate balance between ambition, friendship, and artistic ideals begins to fracture, pulling the characters in opposing directions. Keitel’s character acts as a formidable catalyst, challenging every artist in his orbit to confront a difficult question: What would you be willing to give up in order to achieve ultimate success?

For writer and director Gaurav Bhardwaj, the narrative is deeply personal, rooted in the universal emotional landscape of those who dedicate their lives to the arts.

"‘The Method’ is not simply a film about acting," Bhardwaj explained, shedding light on the thematic layers of his debut feature. "It explores the journeys of four artists: an Indian actor, a Canadian actor, an American playwright and director, and a revered acting teacher portrayed by the legendary actor, Harvey Keitel. At its core, it is a film about aspiration and relationships."

Bhardwaj noted that every single character and arc within the script carried significant personal weight for him during the writing process. Having navigated the creative industries himself, the filmmaker acknowledged that he has stood, at various points in his own career, precisely where each of his characters now stands.

"The film explores the universal struggle to preserve our identities when our ambitions begin demanding that we sacrifice parts of ourselves," Bhardwaj added. "I want audiences to experience the same conflict our characters face—the tension between the relationships we value and the ambitions we choose to pursue."

A Collaborative Global Production

The Method represents a major collaborative effort between multiple production banners aimed at bridging regional cinematic traditions for a worldwide audience. The film is produced by Travelin Bone Entertainment—the production banner recognized for the Netflix original film CTRL—in partnership with Imagination Infinite Motion Pictures.

Travelin Bone was originally established by industry founders Marc Sternberg, Steve Garrow, and Naresh Malik. With The Method following closely on the heels of their previous work on CTRL, the company is actively expanding its comprehensive film and television development slate, focusing heavily on content that resonates with both Indian and global viewers alike.

Steve Garrow, co-founder and CEO of Travelin Bone Entertainment, expressed immense enthusiasm for the partnership and the unique cross-cultural nature of the project.

"With ‘The Method,’ we are bringing together exceptional talent and creative teams from both countries," Garrow remarked. "It has been a wonderful experience working with Gaurav and witnessing the clarity and confidence with which he has approached his first feature film, particularly alongside an iconic actor like Harvey Keitel."

Garrow also shared high praise for the supporting ensemble, offering particular credit to Mina Sundwall for bringing genuine depth and palpable presence to the screen. Furthermore, he commended feature debutants Bhuchar and Maletira, noting that their performances ultimately exceeded initial expectations.

This sentiment of cross-border artistic unity was echoed by Lalit Bhatnagar, the founder of Imagination Infinite Motion Pictures. For Bhatnagar, The Method serves as a prime example of where the contemporary entertainment landscape is heading as geographical and cultural lines continue to blur.

"‘The Method’ reflects the philosophy of my company in many ways," Bhatnagar stated. "We are at a moment when content is becoming increasingly global—and so is talent. The traditional boundaries between industries and markets are becoming less relevant, creating an extraordinary opportunity to bring together artists from different backgrounds to tell compelling stories."

With principal photography successfully completed across the Northeast United States, the creative team behind The Method now shifts its focus toward post-production. As anticipation builds for its scheduled 2027 premiere, the project stands out as a noteworthy transnational endeavor, blending veteran Hollywood presence with fresh global talent to examine the high price of creative dedication.
