Geordie Greep, the prominent singer and musician, has found his current U.S. tour abruptly derailed following serious allegations of sexual misconduct. On Saturday, multiple stops on the itinerary were officially canceled as the music community reacted to the unfolding controversy. The sudden cancellations stem from an anonymous accusation that first surfaced online, which has since developed into a detailed public report featuring accounts from both the alleged victim and a former member of Greep’s touring ensemble.

The controversy deepened with a comprehensive report published by Paste magazine, in which the accuser stepped forward publicly for the first time to detail the events of the evening in question. Identified by the pseudonym Laura, the woman explained to Paste journalist Tatiana Tenreyro that she had initially met Greep and his touring keyboardist, Cameron Campbell, at a local bar before the group relocated to a separate residential apartment alongside other acquaintances.

According to Laura, the gathering extended late into the evening, and as fatigue and alcohol consumption set in, she fell asleep on a couch. The situation took a distressing turn when she awoke.

"It got very late, I was very drunk, and I fell asleep on the couch," Laura told Paste. "I then woke up to him kissing me, and no, not just a peck. When I realized what was happening, I pushed him off of me and called him out on what he was doing. If I’d had a couple more drinks and didn’t wake up when I did, I don’t know what would have happened."

Laura’s account of the incident received immediate and significant corroboration from within Greep’s own touring camp. Cameron Campbell, who served as Greep’s keyboardist, spoke with Paste to share his perspective on the events that transpired in the apartment. In the wake of the incident, Campbell made the decisive choice to sever professional ties with the artist, officially quitting the band.

"I wasn’t in the room where it occurred," Campbell stated, providing context to his vantage point during the gathering. "However, I heard the victim’s reaction, which signaled that something was wrong, and saw the immediate aftermath. I later spoke directly with her, and she told me that Geordie had kissed her while she was asleep."

Elaborating on his reasons for stepping away from the project, Campbell emphasized that the severity and nature of what he witnessed and subsequently verified left him with no alternative. "I made the decision to leave because, based on what I witnessed and what I subsequently learned, I couldn’t continue working with Geordie," he added. In the wake of these revelations, representatives and media outlets, including Pitchfork, reached out to both Greep’s management team and Campbell for further statements and clarification.

As the story gained widespread traction across music publications and social media platforms, Geordie Greep took to Instagram to address the allegations directly. In a detailed post shared on his official account, the singer provided his own version of the timeline and issued an apology to the alleged victim, while acknowledging a severe error in judgment regarding his perception of the situation.

"I fell asleep in an armchair and, at around 6am, woke up," Greep wrote in his statement. "One of the women in the group was on a sofa opposite me alongside three other people who were there with us that night. Throughout the night I had—I now realise mistakenly and stupidly—believed that she was interested in me."

Greep continued by detailing his actions upon waking up, describing how he approached the couch where Laura was resting. "I went over to her and leaned down to kiss her. I kissed her once and she immediately responded negatively and pushed me away. I apologised and stepped away. She was understandably upset and told me to leave. She told me she had been asleep, which to my great regret, I honestly did not realise."

The fallout from the allegations and the subsequent resignations and cancellations has left a significant mark on Greep’s immediate touring schedule. While the remainder of his U.S. dates have been scrapped in the wake of the public scrutiny and internal fallout, international commitments remain currently unaffected. According to existing schedules, Greep’s European tour is still slated to commence on November 1 in the Netherlands, though industry observers continue to monitor the situation closely for any further developments or announcements from promoters and management.
