Art-pop innovators Tune-Yards have officially announced a brand-new United States headlining tour, titled "The Ones That Love You." The Oakland-based musical collective, known for their distinctively energetic percussion, layered vocal loops, and vibrant genre-defying soundscapes, will hit the road this fall for a series of intimate performances across the Midwest and the East Coast. The upcoming trek is scheduled to kick off on November 5 in Chicago, bringing the band to cities including Cleveland, Boston, Cincinnati, Louisville, and beyond. Pop duo Rituals of Mine has been tapped to open each and every date of the tour, providing direct support as the caravan makes its way across the country through mid-November.

The announcement of "The Ones That Love You" tour follows a remarkably active period for the creative duo, which consists of primary songwriter and vocalist Merrill Garbus and collaborator Nate Brenner. Earlier this spring, Tune-Yards expanded their growing portfolio for the silver screen by writing and recording the original score for acclaimed filmmaker Boots Riley’s offbeat comedy-crime feature, I Love Boosters. This cinematic collaboration marks the second major partnership between Tune-Yards and Riley, following their celebrated composition work for the director’s surreal 2018 debut feature, Sorry to Bother You. That initial cinematic venture earned widespread praise for its avant-garde sonic textures and helped cement the band’s reputation as a dynamic force capable of translating their experimental aesthetic into powerful narrative underscores.

Tune-Yards Line Up U.S. Tour

In addition to their prolific film scoring work, Tune-Yards released their sixth full-length studio album, Better Dreaming, earlier this year to a warm reception from fans and critics alike. The record continued the band’s ongoing artistic evolution, blending their signature polyrhythmic sensibilities with fresh lyrical depth and exploratory production. While initial speculation among some followers suggested that the upcoming autumn routing might exclusively spotlight their cinematic score work for I Love Boosters, observers and representatives have clarified that the band’s live performances on "The Ones That Love You" tour will encompass their broader musical catalog, offering fans a comprehensive journey through their rich repertoire, including material from Better Dreaming alongside older fan favorites and deep cuts.

The tour itinerary kicks off on November 5 at Outset in Chicago, Illinois, before moving south to Louisville, Kentucky, for a performance at Whirling Tiger on November 7. From there, Tune-Yards will head to the Woodward Theater in Cincinnati, Ohio, on November 8, followed by a stop at the Pyramid Scheme in Grand Rapids, Michigan, on November 10. The Midwest leg continues with a show at the Beachland Ballroom in Cleveland, Ohio, on November 11. Following the Ohio date, the band will transition eastward, stopping at the Homer Center for the Arts in Homer, New York, on November 14. The final stretch of the tour brings them to New England, with a performance at 3S Artspace in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, on November 15, and a show at the Space Ballroom in Hamden, Connecticut, on November 16. The tour will officially wrap up on November 18 with a high-profile headlining performance at the Paradise Rock Club in Boston, Massachusetts. Every single stop along the way will feature opening performances by Rituals of Mine, rounding out a bill that promises an evening of compelling, rhythm-driven alternative music for attendees across all scheduled markets.
